AlmatyJS Popup #2 — AI, local models, and an outside perspective on web development

30 May 2026

We are continuing the AlmatyJS Popup format: small, cozy gatherings with hands-on practice, questions, and lively discussion.

This time we are meeting at our friends’ Hy.gge Specialty Bar (17 Zenkov Street) for coffee, introductions, and two topics to get the conversation started. The venue’s Instagram.

Saving on AI with local models — Said Avkhadeev. We will talk about when local models really help cut costs, where they can already be used in development, and which trade-offs to consider.

An outside perspective on web development — Magzhan Birgebaiuly. We will discuss how web development looks from inside the team and from the perspectives of the product, business, users, and neighboring engineering disciplines.

Doors open at 10:30 for networking and coffee. We start at 11:00. Places are limited, so do not put off signing up.

AlmatyJS Light #8 x Bereke Bank

16 April 2026

The eighth AlmatyJS Light with Bereke Bank: two talks, networking, and our familiar venue at Q Business Center. At the heart of the program is a panel discussion on how neural networks have reshaped the job market — an honest conversation with HR professionals and hiring managers, without fluff or “vibes for the sake of vibes.” Doors open at 18:30. Registration is closed.

AlmatyJS Popup #1 — How we Build / How we Deploy

28 February 2026

AlmatyJS Popup is a new format of small, cozy gatherings with hands-on practice, questions, and discussion of real-world approaches. We are starting with two trial topics: How we Build — how to turn side projects into products today and actually see them through; How we Deploy — how to deploy them for users and clients quickly, reliably, and without unnecessary pain.

We will discuss how to choose a minimal stack without drowning in the "perfect" MVP, how to organize the process so the project does not die in its second week, which deployment approaches work in 2026 — hosting, CI/CD, domains, monitoring, releases — and how to do things "properly" without a DevOps engineer.

Popup hosts: Maksym Horbatiuk and Roman Kurakin. Places are limited, so do not put off signing up.
